Born in Romania, Iulia moved to the UK, shortly after graduating from the university in Bucharest, where she studied journalism and communication sciences.
Waitressing her way through a Masters Degree in Public Relations at London College of Communication, Iulia started her career in advertising working for major networks such as WPP, Omnicom and Havas.
In 2013, having single for seven years, she decided to take control of her love life and launched a one-year project to manage her way into a committed relationship. After nine months of The Love Project, she met her husband Alistair and together they moved to the South West of France where they run a boutique holiday rental business.
The Love Project is her first book and it chronicles the steps she took and the wild, poignant and often humorous results, as well as the lessons learnt. The book proposal is being considered for publication by a select number of UK publishers.
She is currently working on her second contemporary fiction book. When she’s not writing, reading or greeting guests, Iulia can be found walking their dog Filou, an adorable Irish wolfhound mix they bought at a car boot sale, doing yoga or interviewing interesting people on The Love Project Podcast.
She has been a consistent blogger since 2007, but only started taking her writing seriously after attending writing courses at Circle of Misse in France, under the guidance of Wayne Milstead.
In 2019, her short memoir The Binding of Isaac, about her mother’s mental health decline, has been shortlisted at the Fish Publishing Short Memoir Competition and later published on The Write Launch.
